Emotion Focused Therapy
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence based technique that is proven effective in the treatment of depression and complex trauma. EFT is gaining popularity due to an increasing body of evidence that our emotions precede our thoughts. Previously, popular therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) assumed that thoughts caused emotions, so therapy focused on altering behaviour. Instead, EFT focuses entirely on accessing the emotional charge at the heart of our experiences. The goal is to release emotions trapped in the body, causing depression, anxiety and illness. EFT is a powerful technique, that creates a depth of emotional processing that is difficult to achieve through traditional talk therapy.
Existentialism
Existentialism is a philosophy that enables us to find personal meaning within the natural limitations of all human existence. By exploring the themes of mortality, personal meaning, freedom and responsibility, we discover the impact these great forces are having on our behaviour and the complexity of our relationships.
Transpersonal Counselling
Transpersonal counselling integrates Western and Eastern psychology, and allows for the spiritual dimension of a person to be explored in therapy. Western psychology provides the structured scientific and cognitive foundation for treatment, while Eastern and Shamanic traditions teach us how to explore the powerful aspects of ourselves the West has not yet embraced.
Jungian Analysis
Carl Jung believed the purpose of life was "individuation": a process of becoming all of who you are. In modern society, we tend to express only 'acceptable' parts of ourselves, creating a burden of repressed emotions that lead to sadness, frustration and confusion. When we feel stuck in our lives, it is because of the truths we have repressed or cannot see. Jung devised techniques to access those neglected parts of our psyche, and bring them into conscious awareness. Dream work is one of these techniques, as it provides insight into our emotional lives that goes beyond the logical mind.
You
The most influential element in therapy is your commitment to the process. I will give 100% in our time together, and will support you to give what you can. As trust builds naturally over time, you will find that you want to open more and go further, thereby creating more opportunities for deep work.
It is important to know that in my Humanistic approach, you set the pace for your therapy. In addition to the feedback you will give me, I know how to listen to and trust your body, which is always communicating accurately. It will tell us when it is time to listen and talk, when we can go deep into emotional processing, and when we need to step back and make meaning of the experiences you've had.

Teaching, Group Facilitation & Public Speaking
I am the founder of Dream Lab, an educational organization dedicated to the study of dreams. I teach Dream Lab's annual educational program, facilitate groups and speak at public events about the therapeutic application of Dreaming. We combine Jungian dream theory with dream science and research from around the world, and collaborate with musicians and artists to bring dreaming to life.
Perhaps the most valuable thing I bring to my private and group work is my life experience, and the intensity, passion and empathy it has instilled in me. I never cease from exploring the human psyche, and my clients benefit from my thirst for knowledge.
